The lower back is one of the most troublesome spots for those with back problems.According to Rob DeStefano, D.C. in Muscle Medicine, at any given moment, as much as 20% of the human race is thought to be suffering from lower-back pain. Over their lifetime, most Americans will experience at least one episode of back pain. In a majority of low-back pain cases, doctors are uncertain of the cause.

Weight gain- A sudden surge of food cravings is just one symptom that many women experience. Along with food cravings is a sudden weight gain that comes along with it. This is one of the main symptoms of pregnancy.

When movement makes the pain worst, it’s best to avoid excessive movement or excessive activity. Whether it’s housework, yard work, exercise or other physical activities, you have to moderate the activity level. This will give the injured tissue time to rest and heal.

When you have pain in your back – it is very often caused by a misaligned vertebrae (one of the 24 moveable back bones which surround and protect your spinal cord). When the vertebrae get misaligned, they can pinch and irritate the delicate surrounding nerves in the back. This is EXACTLY the same type of thing that happens with the stone in your shoe. You have a hard object pressing up against a soft object, thus causing distress.

A correct diagnosis is an absolute must in order to determine the precise cause of the back stiffness. There may be one or two underlying conditions accountable for the pain. Understand that, back stiffness is not a health problem. It is merely a sign of some underlying problem.
