In Ireland the weather we shall always have with us. And we would not have it any other way! We like to talk about the weather. It makes a nice ice breaker over that first cup of tea or pint of stout. We like to opine on its fineness or finiteness.
The circumstances might extenuate an individual’s behavior on the occasion of the meeting. I find I am much more receptive to appreciating someone’s company and character when we are not meeting under the conditions of an emergency.
I.Small Talk Goes a Long Way…: Conversations are based on verbal give and take. It may help you to prepare questions you have for the person you are meeting for the first time beforehand. Or, take a few minutes to learn something about the person you meet for the first time before you get together. For instance, does he play golf? Does she work with a local charitable foundation? Is there anything that you know of that you have in common with the person you are meeting? If so, this can be a great way to open the conversation and to keep it flowing.
Let’s return to some classics, shall we? This year just sport the traditional holiday colors in a variety of ways. Think green sweater with a nice silver choker showcasing a splendid red GSI vs. GIA slide or pendant. Try out black and silver, and you’ll sparkle like new fallen snow on a wintry night. A sleek gold lamme blouse with black tux trousers or other black accessories or accents is the perfect ensemble for either Christmas or New Year’s events, and easily dressed up or down…. add in some white and you’re as bubbly as a glass of champagne!
As you walk down from the Mosque, back down the blue alleys of Chefchaouen, you start to feel like you are floating downstream a river as the downhill sweeps up your feet in a calm pace. Your thoughts quiet, and you you just simply observe everything that is happening in this utopia of a river. Then by chance, you get washed up aside into a side alley, away from the current. The silence wakes you from the peaceful meditation you were in earlier. In these alleys you find mothers peeling nuts, kids passing the soccer ball, or a man smoking a lonely cigarette.
Fire Blight is very contagious to plants so you should burn the branches you prune out. You should also dip or wash your pruning shears in rubbing alcohol after each cut to keep from spreading this deadly fungus.
Shoes are a girls best friend. You can either buy her a pair of high heels she has been looking at for some time. Or you can just give her a nice gift card to buy 3 or 4 pairs of shoes at her favorite shoe store.
